Whew, what a weekend

Kirin had a good weekend. First, we stayed up late on Sunday to make him a new toy. We tied some rope to one of his rope toys and tied it to a pole and he chases it in the backyard. We've been going on 1/2 hour walks really early in the morning too. Had a vet appointment on Tuesday and he got his shots, tough dog, didn't even flinch.
Still in good health and weighs in at week 11 at a whopping 21.20 lbs. He's growing. Here's some shots of him lounging.

Kirin

How's Kirin adjusting? I'd say rather well. He sits at the door now without prompting for his leash. He's doing pretty well with the housebreaking, we've had a few accidents, but he's good. He likes his bamboo brand combat toys. And he's adjusting pretty well to our schedule.

Kirin's second day!

We went to the Vet today, for his first check-up. He weighed in at 15.9 lbs at 8 weeks old. He's in great health, good lungs, good heartbeat, no worms, puppy teeth, inital trimming of his toenails, and the vet staff just ate him up. He is a ham, the breeder, Mike May, did a wonderful job with his pups and dogs. Thanks.

The vet's assistant tried to give us some science diet dog food, which is fine, but we're using all natural Canidae dog food. We also don't have to worry about recalls either.

He got his Heartguard and his Frontline to keep him protected and we set up the next appointment for his next vaccinations. We're also considering a puppy kindergarten to make sure he's properly socialized, and to start some training.

Speaking of training, Kirin is learning "sit", "down", "kennel", "come", "no", and "potty". He's also accepted his collar and doesn't mind the leash either. Since bulldogs are "mouthy" and like to chew things, we got him a kong and some toys from the bamboopet company. He also likes the empty 20 oz bottles.

The Car ride.

After meeting Kirin's mom and dad and extended family for a bit, we left upstate Pennsylvania and headed back to Kentucky and Kirin's new home.

It was a 12 hour drive with us stopping periodically for Kirin to get water and potty breaks.

Here's some pictures, he slept for most of the ride which was nice. He did really good for his first car ride.

1st post!

We leave in 8-10 hours for a 10 hour trip to pick up the puppy, aka Kirin. I plan on using this to share his adventures and photos as he grows.
